Tandoor accessories – what is worth adding (based on what you cook)
More
Less
With most tandoors, skewers are already included – that is enough to get started. If you want more convenience and more cooking options, here is a practical guide on what to add.
For cooking (meat, fish, vegetables) – most popular add-ons
- Hook – for safely removing accessories and food from a hot tandoor.
- Fish/vegetable grate – for even cooking when you do not want to use skewers.
- “Tree” rack – multi-level cooking (more food in one round).
- Multi-level grate – to cook several items at the same time (vegetables, fish, snacks).
For baking (flatbreads, bread, buns)
- Flatbread pillow – for placing flatbreads/bread onto the tandoor wall.
- Heat-resistant glove – for safer handling near hot walls.
- Stones – for baking and stabilizing heat.
- Kapkir + hook – for easier removal (depending on the cooking method).
Basic minimum (recommended for everyone)
- Tandoor stand / base – for stable placement.
- Cover – for protection and storage (especially from moisture).
Bonus: practical solution for gatherings
- Kazan (cauldron) stand – while the tandoor is heating up, you can cook on a kazan/cauldron in parallel.
Tip: if you are not sure where to start, the most useful add-ons are a hook + grate. Next – a
tree rack or a multi-level grate, and baking tools if you plan bread or flatbreads.

This set makes baking flatbread in a tandoor oven easier and safer. With the kapkir, you can carefully remove the finished flatbread from the walls of the tandoor, while the hook helps to hold the flatbread from the other side so that it does not fall.
The tools are made of food-grade stainless steel (6 mm) and are 70 cm long, allowing you to work comfortably and keep your hands at a safe distance from the heat.
