The Uzbek cast iron kazan 3.5 L with lid is a traditional cooking pot handmade by skilled craftsmen in Uzbekistan. It is suitable for preparing food both at home and outdoors. This Uzbek cast iron kazan is made from 100% cast iron and features thick walls, a solid construction and an aluminium lid.

Cast iron heats up gradually, distributes heat evenly throughout the cookware and retains its temperature for a long time. This allows food to cook evenly and remain warm even after the heat has been reduced. The Uzbek cast iron kazan is especially suitable for pilaf, but it can also be used for soups, stews, meat, vegetables, sauces, goulash, roasts and compotes.

This model has a flat outer base, which allows the kazan to stand securely on a suitable flat cooking surface. The inside retains its traditional rounded shape, helping heat to spread evenly across the bottom and walls of the kazan.

The inner surface of the kazan is fully polished, making it smoother and easier to use and maintain. The kazan has already been factory seasoned and is prepared for use. It does not contain technical grease or industrial oil.

There is no need to perform a complete seasoning process before the first use. It is only recommended to heat a small amount of vegetable oil inside the kazan to remove any possible production dust and prepare the surface for cooking.

This Uzbek cast iron kazan is suitable for approximately 1–3 people. Depending on the type of food and portion size, it can be used to prepare approximately 4–8 portions of pilaf.

The kazan can be used both with and without the lid. It is a versatile cooking pot suitable for everyday cooking, picnics, camping, outdoor gatherings and preparing food over an open fire.

Care and storage

Correct care
  • Allow the kazan to cool gradually
  • Wash it with warm water
  • Use a soft sponge or brush
  • Dry it immediately after washing
  • Apply a very thin layer of vegetable oil

What should I do if rust appears?

  1. Remove the rust with a firm sponge, brush or fine abrasive.
  2. Rinse the kazan with warm water.
  3. Dry it completely.
  4. Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil.
  5. Heat the kazan gently to restore the protective layer.
